MPACT Law Firm as an organization, is a natural progression from the legal work experiences of its founder and managing partner: Atty. Renato T. Muñez, Jr. A graduate of Far Eastern University Institute of Law, he started his work experience in the legal field as a judicial staff in the Court of Appeals, within the Office of Justice Renato Francisco, where he conducted legal research and drafted court decisions on a broad range of legal fields, from criminal law, to Labor, to corporate law, social welfare cases and everything in between. From the Court of Appeals, he pivoted in September 2016, into a court nearer to his residence, the Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 66, in Makati City, where he served as a Court Decongestion Officer under the Presiding Judge of the said court.
After finishing his contract, he took the 2017 Bar Exams, and passed the same. In 2018, he settled back to Iloilo City, where he served as an Attorney II, in the Legal Division of the Regional Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways, where we conducted public consultations for the infrastructure projects of the Department in Western Visayas, conducted documentary due diligence, prepared contracts, legal research and assisted in expropriation cases, until the end of 2019. In 2020, he pivoted into private practice with the Alba Law Office, where he assisted clients on real property cases, specifically, agrarian reform cases under The jurisdiction of the Department of Agrarian Reform. This experience also included conversion processes of land and property from inalienable to alienable status, as well as processing of clearances.
This stint was cut short during the pandemic however, and due to the frequent lockdowns, he pivoted in corporate law practice, in August of 2020, in the outsourcing industry with Fair Trade Outsourcing Ph Inc., a BPO company with presence in the Philippines, the U.S., Mexico, and Ghana, employing a workforce approximately 1,500 employees at any given time.
– In this said role, he served as the Head of its Legal Department of FTO Ph’s Philippines office, where he led the company’s compliance with SEC regulations, provisions of the 2019 Revised Corporation Code, relevant tax issuances, data privacy, and labor issuances. The latter field, labor and employment law, was an almost daily concern that had to be closely managed in conjunction with the Human Resources Department. As a result, he gained experience on the intricacies of this area of practice, including employment related contracts, employee recruitment, tenure, discipline and termination. He successfully defended the company from labor related lawsuits, neutralized emergent incidents and prevented labor disputes from developing into full blown labor cases.
Under his leadership, the company was able to successfully implement retrenchment programs affecting an entire 85 person strong branch, without any lawsuit being filed thereafter. He also was able to lead redundancy programs which led to some labor cases filed against the company, but which was won by the latter, with finality, at the NLRC level.
In addition to handling labor cases and successfully defending the company from such threats, he also led the company in successful criminal cases filed against dishonest employees. In the field of Data Privacy law, Atty. Ren was able to achieve a successful settlement of privacy case which would have inflicted severe financial damage on the company. He also led in privacy compliance on a range of privacy programs related to BPO operations.
Finally, his corporate experience gained from FTO Ph consists of accurate and timely preparation of Board Resolutions Secretary’s Certificates, contracts of lease, service level agreements, privacy contracts and implementation of SEC issuances. Lastly, he also gained experience in leading the company in compliance with social welfare regulations, pertaining to SSS, Philhealth and HDMF matters. After close to more than three (3) years of service with FTO Ph, he pivoted in December 2023 to private practice with the MCTA Law Group, a law firm with specialized practice on real estate, Real property transactions, estate settlement and estate tax compliance, among others. Here, he gained experience in preparation of Deeds of Sale of real property, contracts to sell, real estate documentation and processes, including settlement of estate protocols.
Finally, he exited MCTA law on March 2025, and practiced independently under Muñez Law Office, ably assisted by his wife, Weena C. Muñez as Administrative Executive, from April 2025 to September 2025, leading the establishment of MPACT Law on October 2025. At present, the law firm continues on its advocacy for legal compliance, and carries out it legal services centered mainly on corporate, labor, tax, privacy and commercial transactions.
