In celebration of International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day and the entire International Women’s Month, MPACT Law Firm recognizes the importance of laws that protect and empower women, particularly in the workplace. One key legislation is the Republic Act No. 11210, which grants female workers 105 days of paid maternity leave in case of live birth, regardless of civil status or employment sector. The law also allows mothers to allocate up to seven days of their leave to the child’s father or a qualified alternate caregiver.
The law further strengthens support for mothers by allowing an additional 30 days of leave without pay, while solo parents under Republic Act No. 8972 are entitled to 15 additional days of paid maternity leave. In cases of miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy, women are granted 60 days of paid maternity leave.
Through this legislation, the Philippines continues to advance legal protections for women and mothers. This International Women’s Month, MPACT Law Firm recognizes the role of laws like RA 11210 in promoting women’s welfare, dignity, and equal protection in society.

A friend of the law firm witnessed a vehicular accident

Earlier this week, a friend of the law firm, Mr. Don Bautista, witnessed a vehicular accident at 1:30 am in the morning of March 18, 2026, or this week. He described the scene in these words: “Took this photo and video of a vehicular accident on the way to bring my wife to the office at around 1:30am, Garbage truck vs toyota wigo, it took 2 hours to pull out the driver from the car.” This incident serves to remind us all, yet again, of the importance of road safety, and how this affects real lives. One actual incident even reached the Supreme Court in the case of Mercury Drug vs. Spouses Huang, where the victim suffered injuries that would last for a lifetime, and the emotional and financial toll, to the offender, the victim and their families weighed on them heavily. We can only hope and pray that the victim has not suffered any serious injury. Keep safe everyone.
